Metro Pub Crawl - Prague "A Line"

Having heard stories of groups of lads making their way along the length of Prague's shortest metro line, line A, I decided to look into it further. Although the line consists of 13 stations, we decided it would be possible, as long as we took small beers at the intermediate stations, reserving the pleasure of big beers for the first and last pubs!

For this challenge, I was joined, at the beginning, by Angela and Diego.

Things didn't get off to the start I had planned. At midday I was alone upon arrival at Dejvická, the northern end of the line, and the designated pub was closed until 1pm. When Angela arrived, we ventured to the farmers market in search of a beer but there was strangely none to be found. Diego found us there and we wandered in search of our first pub. A big beer each!



We took the metro to Hradčanská and enjoyed the luxury of an outdoor beer, albeit a smaller one this time. Pace yourself, we thought. Fast forward the metro journey to Malostranská, where we met Martin, and it was an "on-foot" journey for the next eight stops! We had lunch at Staroměstská, followed by a strategic chocolate stop.

People came and went, there was another "missing pub" at Náměstí Míru. Fortunately, somehow, we managed to make our way through and catch up some of the lost time by downing our drinks at the 8th stop.

We later stopped for pictures outside Radio Liberty, changed two of the pubs just "because we want to go to the first one we see", coin tossed for a shot at the last pub (Becherovka) and still made it to Depo Hostivař in time for the last (midnight) train.

Having said that, we did have to run from the last pub and only just made it onto the train. What an adventure!
